The proposed Ridge Park project is pictured above. The land is currently open space with a walking trail. No further development should occur; otherwise, we lose this magnificent open space. Also, note the proximity of the homes on Ridge Rd, across from the Dog Park.
Note that no Dog Park exists in the suburbs close to residents. See the dog park locations link for this data. The Township told the residents, "Unfortunately, you must put up with the noise." That is wrong at many levels, and if nobody stands up to this, residents will suffer. The Township is charged with serving the public interest, and this suggests the current Township Administration is failing to serve the public interest, which is atrocious.
This image is from East Pikeland Township's Facebook page, highlighting the hazards to our waterways from the very things they will be introducing by placing the dog park in the residential area of 87 Ridge Road.
Below is a real-time example of how pollutants will contaminate drinking water, the fields, the wetlands, and the streams near 87 Ridge Road. The township has posted the risks in the image above on their own Facebook for viewing by the public. The township is in direct conflict of its own plan by suggesting the currently proposed location for the project which will introduce the very elements they seek to prevent in our waterways.
This water situation has gotten progressively worse with time. Introducing the dog park will bring pollutants and hazardous waste to area resident's well water. It's quite likely any attempted community garden would be washed away as well.
